About Sheikh Muhammad Siddiq Al-Minshawi:

He was known for his unique and melodious recitation style. Born in Al-Bawarik village in Minsha province in Egypt, Sheikh Muhammad memorized the Quran at the age of eight. He inherited a strong Quranic background and his father, Sheikh Siddiq Al-Minshawi, taught him the art of Quranic recitation. Sheikh Minshawi was known for his emotional voice and was often referred to as "the tearful voice".

He gained worldwide recognition for his beautiful voice, mastery of recitation styles, and deep emotional connection to the meanings of the Quranic verses. His complete recitation of the Holy Quran is highly regarded worldwide.

Sheikh Al-Minshawie passed away on June 20, 1969 due to esophageal varices. He survived an assassination attempt through poisoning when someone tried to poison his food but was saved by a warning from the cook.
